I wasn't going to post about this but I'm finding myself more and more aggravated so I'm going to just say this and be done with it. No names, no specifics.
I'm about half-way through visiting Six Word Saturday linkies from this past week and I'm noticing a very specific trend.
To the person who did not participate in 6WS and pasted the exact same message on every participants' blogs with a link to your own blog? I consider that to be spam and I don't appreciate it. I actually find it to be very rude and I'm not happy that you used the linkies on my site in that way.
Here are a couple of tips for self-promoting via a link-up. Take the time to read the individual posts and formulate an individual response for your comment. And if you want people to visit your site, try participating in the actual link-up. Right now, you're doing it wrong.
To those of you who were spammed in this way via the 6WS linky - I apologize. I don't know what I can do about it, but I do apologize. I will look into it though, and if I *can* do anything, I will.
And now, back to my regularly scheduled 6WS blog-hopping.

I noticed it too. And their website isn't good either. ;)
Yeah....what you said!!!
That's really too bad...but you posted a very fantastic and strong reply to someone using our wonderful blog world in that manner... hope your week is brighter!...and back as it should be ...all I can say is if they are reading this reply, SHAME ON THEM! and DON"T DO IT AGAIN! OK!
I've noticed that happen on other linkys and it is really irritating.
I think you made your point about it well.
It's not your fault... It happens all the time... And not just with SWS posts, or on the sites that participate in SWS.
That is too bad to hear. I am with Karen & Jeanie. People can see through it though and I don't think it reflects back on you, more on the person who is doing it. Definitely not a good way to get followers.
I'm so sorry, Cate--I honestly thought that the p3n1s enlarg3ment drug I was promoting would be useful to all your readers. I won't do it again.
FYI
I just had a weird thing happen to me while posting on mamma kerr's blog...a message popped up saying I was banned from this site and now when I went back in to her site to figure out what went wrong the message came up again. Anyone else having problems? Weird as I was just making nice comments and had never been on her site before.
you don't know me [yet] as i'll be registering for the first time today, but regarding this spam business, it is not your fault, but it is your responsability not to let those spread around. on the blogger comment widget, you can decide that all comments need to be approved to show up. look at your linky if they have such a feature. it's more work for you as you should review the new comments regularly, but it keeps it spam free. i know i get a notice for all of the comments i get and i eliminate those right away.
as for Kathe w., i suspect, if she's really innocent, that the blog owner reported her as spam, by mistake... and blocked her. could this be it?
blogging is fun, but it got its share of headache too. good luck with that!!
